BTW- Trump’s closest advisors have testified that Trump, contrary to his claims, never told the rioters to leave or stay peaceful on Jan 6, Dan Scovino wrote the messages to “stay peaceful” and later “Go home. We love you. You’re very special.” while Trump wrote the incendiary comments like “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done.”

Trump argued in court that a president could order seal team 6 to murder his political rival and would be 100% immune from prosecution (unless he was first impeached) because ordering seal team 6 is an official action of the president which Trump’s team is arguing makes him immune until impeached, and that a president cannot be impeached after leaving office, meaning if you commit the treason or murder (or any crime at all) so near the end of your term you can’t be impeached before leaving office you get off Scott free…even if you leave early to escape prosecution.

In January 2020, the Donald Trump-led Justice Department formally declared that impeachment inquiries by the House are invalid unless the chamber takes formal votes to authorize them, which has not happened.

The FBI, DOJ, AG, and other government departments are bound by their still valid decision, so won’t be responding to any subpoenas until the full house votes for the inquiry.

This inquiry is going to be the freedom caucus alone in a room with no witnesses or evidence because their inquiry is not valid without a full house vote first. Hopefully the Democrats will put a babysitter in there to watch them so they don’t foment another coup attempt.
