"'We are thrilled to have our incredible cast back. The call has already gone out to the animators to put the mouths back on the characters,' Futurama creators Groening and David X. Cohen said in a joint statement."

Duckman33 and Cornfed are on the trail of it though!

So the first guy to earn a Ruby is a foul-mouthed perverse duck who sounds like George Costanza? Sounds good to me! Ted has been with the sift for almost a year now and sifts a lot of quality stuff. Needless to say some of them are of himself, but because he's so well liked no one seems to mind these selflinks.

Keep on finding quality sifts, Duckman33, and congratulations! And be sure to visit his pqueue as it needs some attention.

They are fuckers.

Via SciFi Wire:

No one was more thrilled than us at the news that Comedy Central was resurrecting Futurama with an order of 26 new episodes, to begin airing in 2010.

But now comes news on Forces of Geek that 20th Century Fox Television, which produces the series, may be considering recasting the voice roles. Say it ain't so!

Awesome visual effects on this 'advert'. Clowns vs Cops. Bullet time. What more do you need.

Just posted this here, but thought I'd expose it a bit better for anyone who's a fan of Family Guy or Seth MacFarlane. It's a pretty enjoyable discussion. Conversation was over a couple snifters of whiskey and includes talk about how Seth was fortunate enough to be late for one of the terrorist planes on 9/11 and what happened at the airport after the attacks, how he got his start at Hanna Barbera, and lots of other great stuff. Listen to the end where Stewie and Peter Griffin make an interesting appearance.

Listen to the podcast of Adam Carolla chatting for an hour and a half with Seth MacFarlane last night, Mar 16, 2009.

Robot Chicken: Wrath of Khan Opera

I guess I posted at a bad time. This was a small tribute from the robot chicken guys after his death. I thought it was well done. Maybe a comedy/scifi team could truly make a broadway or opera hit!

This is my first Sift Talk post, so if this doesn't belong here, please be gentle.

Can you guess which one is EDD? I'll give you a hint: He's the one making the backward "L" on his forehead. That ought to tell you something.

Long-time sifter EDD finally got his gold star today, boys and girls. When I say "long-time," I mean he's been here longer than I have. (Anyone newer than me is a whipper-snapper.) Though it took him awhile, who cares? What's the rush, as long as you're having fun? I'm pretty sure he's been doing just that here.

He's much more of a voter than a votee, having cast more than 3500 votes since he's joined. So don't take this fella for granted, because he's not just a wallflower. Want to know how to get an instant upvote from EDDster? Post a bunny video. He LUVS him some wabbits. But no rabbit stew or 'Fatal Attraction' videos, please.

He's a pretty damn nice guy too, so give it up for EDD. He has to star in one of the unfunniest cartoons I've ever seen, so he'll greatly appreciate your kind words.

"Some of the cartoons were removed on April 16. A message saying the cartoons were no longer available because of a copyright claim by Warner appeared in their place. By evening the messages disappeared, and some of the cartoons were back. Representatives for YouTube and Warner would not confirm whether the companies had tried to remove the cartoons..."

Thus far, "Charlie the Unicorn" movies have followed a twisted take on the "Monomyth," also known as the "Hero's Journey." The Hero's Journey consists of 5 major parts, and all (or variants) are found in both this and the first Charlie video. I shall analyze and demonstrate the formulaic nature of both these videos in the paradigm of the Hero's Journey.

Friends, sifters, netizens -- lend me your ears.

The time has come for all good parties to aid in the promotion and publication of a fine and wonderful video -- a video which has failed not once but THREE TIMES to appear in the annals of siftdom.

It is a somewhat slower-paced and longer short film than much of the usual fare here, and yet I assure you that it is well worth spending some time to slow down and appreciate.

This short film won an Academy award, beating out such greats as Lifted, which currently stands at 80 votes here; and A Gentleman's Duel, which has 157 votes.

So I beseech you: relax, have a cup of tea, and enjoy The Danish Poet, the fruit of some of Denmark and Canada's finest talent.

Thank you.

Hi,

I've already bugged Dag about this and he advised me to ask again here.

I'm looking for a video I've watched about half a year ago. It's a black-and-white cartoon. Simple drawing style. Actually, it's various episodes of this cartoon clipped one after the other in one video.

The cartoons are about a scummy, bald, agressive, swearing male American who is coping with everyday life (like a neighbour who comes over, or his kid who breaks a lamp inside the house). The guy either mumbles NSFW stuff, yells or doesn't say anything. In the lamp episode, after thinking for almost 2 minutes he touches a (broken?) wire and gets electrified.

Can anybody help me out?

Thanks,
