This TV special originally aired on prime time TV in the '60s, the second of such based on Charles Schultz's Peanuts comic strip (and the first non-holiday Peanuts special) to be produced by Lee Mendelson and Bill Meléndez (who also directed), and originally aired on the CBS network on June 8, 1966.
